Explore our Professional Learning programme of events for 2017 and beyond.

LLF TSA is pleased to share with you the  event leaflets for our latest range of Professional Learning programmes which will be taking place during 2017 and beyond. A postal mailing is being sent out this week (w/c Monday 14th November).

Listed below is information about the LLF TSA offer of Professional Learning programmes and events in 2017 for:

  1. Senior and Middle Leaders

  2. Teachers

  3. Teaching Assistants and Support Staff

which has been arranged into three easy-to-read sections for (1) Senior/Middle Leaders, (2) Teachers and (3) Teaching Assistants/Support Staff.

 

1.    For Senior & Middle Leaders

 

National Professional Leadership Qualifications (NPQ)

All qualifications (NPQH, NPQSL and NPQML) are currently being reviewed and updated by the Department for Education/NCTL. We will communicate with you again during the Spring Term 2017 regarding applications for the 2017-18 programmes. However you can register your interest and reserve places provisionally now by contacting the TSA office.

National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership (NPQSL)

LLF TSA, in association with Learners First and The Humber Teaching School, is pleased to invite expressions of interest for the next NPQSL cohort starting in September 2017.

Expressions of interest are invited from those in a leadership role with cross-school responsibilities, for example an:

  • Experienced middle leader
  • Deputy head
  • Special educational needs co-ordinator (SENCO)
  • Advanced skills practitioner
  • Specialist leader of education
  • Other senior staff.

National Professional Qualification for Middle Leadership (NPQML)

LLF TSA, in association with Learners First and The Humber Teaching School, is pleased to invite expressions of interest for the next NPQML cohort starting in September 2017.

Expressions of interest are invited from those in a middle leadership role with responsibility for leading a team, for example a:

  • Key stage leader
  • Curriculum area leader
  • Pastoral services leader
  • Subject leader or head of department.

Outstanding Teacher Programme (OTP)

The next Outstanding Teacher Programme, delivered in association with OLEVI and The Humber Teaching School, will take place during the Spring and Summer Terms over a ten week period (with seven facilitator-led sessions), starting on Tuesday 14 March 2017. Please see the event leaflet  for more information.

Communication Support for Verbal Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

The next Communication Support for Verbal Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder programme, delivered in association with ELKLAN, will take place during the Summer Term 2017, with a course of five fortnightly sessions of 4 hours each starting on Wednesday 3 May 2017. Teaching & Leading Primary Mastery Maths (PMM) Programme

Teaching & Leading Primary Mastery Maths, delivered in association with Yorkshire & Humber Maths Hub & North Lincolnshire Council, has been designed by experienced and successful primary maths specialists.

This highly effective programme is designed to give maths subject leaders and teachers the capacity and capability to implement the new maths curriculum across the primary phase leading towards mastery based learning and deep thinking.

The next four day programme will start on Wednesday 1st March 2017. Other programme dates are Tuesday 4th April, Thursday 18th May and Friday 23rd June 2017.

MAKATON: Introduction & Refresher Workshops (MAK)

The next Introduction to MAKATON workshop will take place on Wednesday 1st March 2017 (2.00 pm to 3.30 pm) at St Hugh’s. Please see the event leaflet for more information.

The next MAKATON Refresher workshop will take place on Wednesday 15th March 2017 (2.00 pm to 3.30 pm) at St Hugh’s. Please see the event leaflet for more information.

RQT Development Programme (RQT) – individual sessions

The RQT Development Programme, delivered in association with The Humber Teaching School and Northern Lights TSA, continues through the Spring Term 2017.

Sessions will be held on: Wednesday 11 January 2017 (Working with others), Thursday 2 February 2017 (Developing leadership skills), Wednesday 29 March 2017 (Next steps to leadership).

Encouraging Learning Skills (ELS)

Encouraging Learning Skills is a programme of 3 modules for Teaching Assistants who want to encourage the development of key communication skills - listening, language and speech - in all children as part of everyday learning activities.

The next programme will take place over three successive weeks starting on Wednesday 1st February 2017 (1.30 pm to 3.30 pm). Please see the event leaflet for more information.

The next licensed Outstanding Teaching Assistant programme, delivered in association with OLEVI and The Humber Teaching School, will take place during the Summer Term 2017 (with three facilitator-led sessions), on Friday 30th June, Thursday 6th July and Friday 7th July 2017. Promoting & Developing Positive Pupil Behaviour for Teaching Assistants (PBP)

Promoting and Developing Positive Pupil Behaviour is a programme designed specifically to equip teaching assistants and support staff with effective skills & knowledge in order to promote and develop a positive inclusive learning environment for all.

The next programme will take place on four successive Tuesdays in the first half of the Spring Term 2017. The dates are: Tuesday 10th, Tuesday 17th January, Tuesday 24th and Tuesday 31st January 2017 (1.30 pm to 3.30 pm). Please see the event leaflet for more information.

Supporting Children with Speech & Language Needs (SLN)

Supporting Children with Speech & Language Needs provides two one-day events for Teaching Assistants working with identified children who have speech and language learning difficulties. Each event aims to help TAs to improve the quality of children’s individual learning within the classroom. Dates for the Spring Term 2017 are Thursday 9th March (Language Skills) and Thursday 16th March (Speech Sound Skills). Applications can be made to attend either or both of the events described below according to school and individual preferences. Please see the event leaflet for more information.
