LLF TSA,  in association with KYRA Teaching School Alliance and the Education Endowment Foundation, is pleased to invite applications from Primary Schools to participate in a one year research and evaluation project looking at the use of Digital Feedback in Primary Maths.

Criteria and Information relating to the Project

The following criteria and information is relevant to joining the project:

  • must have capacity to provide a tablet per 4-5 pupils for each maths class
  • Year 4 and 5 will be involved (with one year group the control and the other the intervention - selected randomly) - if you have mixed year groups his should not be an issue
  • be willing to sign a memorandum of understanding by the 1st April 2017
  • be willing to release your classroom teacher(s) for a day's training and then half a day a week, every four weeks, for a professional learning community meeting
  • have a research lead who will have half a day's training and must observe the learning in the intervention classrooms for 15 minutes each week, with a follow up feedback meeting (usually last about 20 minutes)
  • have the pupils (control and intervention) sit a test towards the end of the project (June 2018)  

The project team will provide:

  • digital support in terms of training
  • headphones and apps used during the project
  • diagnostic assessment items for the whole maths curriculum in the intervention year group
  • a training session for classroom teachers and a separate training session for research leads (in June 2017)
  • On-going support and access to research materials through a professional learning community
