LLF TSA is pleased to share with you the  event information for our latest range of Professional Learning programmes for teachers which will be taking place during 2018-19 and beyond. Most of these Professional Learning programmes and events can be requested on a bespoke basis for your school, academy, college or organisation.

Applications can be made online or by e-mail/facsimile afterr completing the relevant event application form or by contacting Catherine Thompson (for all programmes and events) on 01724 842960 or Grace Windle (for all programmes and events delivered by NHS Children's Therapy Services) via the TSA Office. Best Practice: High Impact Strategies for Teachers

From Spring 2018 (TBC)

Best Practice: High Impact Strategies for Teachers will enable teachers in all phases to further develop, improve and embed essential teaching skills and strategies in order to consistently deliver highly effective lessons. The programme consists of up to three afternoon sessions (1) Creating a culture of excellence in my lessons (2) Effective questioning and feedback in lessons (3) Stretching and challenging the more able. Delegates may attend one or more of the sessions. Each session will help delegates to develop the embedding of pedagogy and assessment practice. Additional learning opportunities can be provided for teachers to collaborate and develop high impact models across the partnership as well as to observe best practice in a range of different contexts. ELKLAN Speech & Language Support Programme (5-11) 

Summer 2019

ELKLAN® have developed a range of successful, accredited courses for practitioners supporting learners with speech, language and communication needs.  These are highly practical training events designed to equip practitioners with approaches and strategies to maximise speech, language and communication skills of ALL learners; in particular those with speech, language and communication needs and/or English as an Additional Language. The ELKLAN® (5-11) programme is appropriate for practitioners working in primary schools. ELKLAN Communication Support Programme for Children with ASD

Autumn 2018  

The programme consists of five fortnightly teaching sessions, lasting four hours, run by ELKLAN® trained specialist tutors. Makaton Introductory Workshop

On request

This 1.5 hour workshop will provide delegates with a general insight into what Makaton® is and who uses it, with the added opportunity to learn some targeted signs and symbols useful to your setting. Makaton Beginners' Workshop

Autumn 2018

Makaton® uses signs and symbols to help people communicate. It is designed to support spoken language and the signs and symbols are used with speech in spoken word order. The Beginners' Workshop provides a practical introduction to the Makaton® Language Programme. Sessions include discussing commonly asked questions, hints and tips for effective signing and symbol use and how to start using Makaton® in everyday situations at home or work. Participants must have an interest in early communication skills. Makaton Foundation Workshop

Spring 2019 and on request

Makaton® Foundation Workshop on request. The Makaton® Foundation Workshop of 4 x 2.5 hour twilight sessions will build on learning from the introductory workshop revealing how Makaton® can develop the communication skills of its users. Participants will develop signing skills in using around 150 everyday signs in speaking situations for supporting understanding and expression. They will be introduced to the accompanying symbols how they may be used to make communication resources. Makaton Refresher Workshop

On request

This 1.5 hour Refresher workshop will provide delegates who have already completed the Beginners or the Foundation Workshop with a general review of what Makaton® is and who uses it, with the added opportunity to revise some signs and symbols. Delivered in an enjoyable and interactive style, the workshop provides opportunities to discuss ideas on how to develop use of Makaton® within your setting. Outstanding Teacher Programme (OTP)

Summer 2019

The Outstanding Teacher Programme (OTP) is delivered in licensed association with OLEVI and The Humber Teaching School. Teaching, Leading & Supporting  Primary Mastery Maths Programme

Teaching, Leading & Supporting Primary Mastery Mathematics is delivered in association with the Yorkshire & Humber Maths Hub & North Lincolnshire Council, has been designed by experienced and successful primary maths specialists. This highly effective programme is designed to give maths subject leaders, teachers and/or teaching assistants the capacity and capability to implement the new maths curriculum across the primary phase leading towards mastery based learning and deep thinking.
